Welcome to my first blog! Today was a quilter's dream! I spent the afternoon at the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo. I've only been sewing and quilting for a relatively short time. More about that another day! So, today I spent some time purchasing fabric. A few weeks ago, I purchased the "Professional Tote" pattern by TheCreativeThimble.com. I've been looking for the perfect fabric to match my red trench coat. (The trench is the rage for fall!) I'm happy to report that I found a fun fabric by http://www.blankquilting.com/. Doesn't look like they have it on their website :( However, I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow. As you get to know me, you will learn that I have absolutely NO FEAR for bright, bold color! But, I bet you already guessed that...a woman who will wear a red trench coat is probably not afraid of bold color.
In addition, I purchased a yard of blue reversible batik. The reverse also contains gold. I'm contemplating using it for the Minds Wide Open, Celebrate the Arts in Virginia Quilt Challenge, "From the Muse, Featuring Women in the Arts". The rules indicate that blue must be the predominant color. Hmmm....still thinking about my Muse. I don't think that mine is BLUE. So, I'm having a little creative block. I have until November 2009 to submit my entry. I better get on it!
Thanks for stopping by my first blog and my first entry. Please come back over the next few weeks. I plan to add pictures of my quilts and pictures of my travels. Happy Quilting!
